Converse has been on quite the roll with their “Three Artists, One Song” series. They’ve put together Andrew WK, Matt & Kim, and Soulja Boy; Kid Cudi, Best Coast, and Rostam Batmanglij from Vampire Weekend; Hot Chip, Bernard Sumner, and Hot City; and Julian Casablancas, Pharrell Williams, and Santigold.
This time, to celebrate a Gorillaz-themed line of Chuck Taylors, they’ve matched up everyone’s favorite cartoon rock band, one half of one of the best rap groups of all time, and the lead singer and creative vision behind a beloved (and now retired) dance-punk band. It’s pretty awesome – exactly what you would expect from the musicians behind it. With the official video, they’ve taken it off the deep end a bit, with creepy computer-generated and cartoon band members in a London rowhouse wandering around, exploring cavernous bathrooms, and even apparently chewing down on an ear sandwich. Watch and enjoy, and of course be sure to download the song on Converse’s official website (and maybe pick up a pair of the new Chucks while you’re at it?).
