wordlife – Breakthrough "wordlife – Breakthrough"

Looking for an afternoon pick-me-up? Try this, a bouncy house-y and super dance-y summer track from the Sydney duo wordlife. Much like MFS favorites The Knocks, Kato and Adam Bozzetto combine live synth and drums with DJ mixing to create unique and instantly addictive tracks that you’ll want to jump around to (with or without your headphones, your choice). They describe it as “forward-thinking club music” – and after listening to “Breakthrough,” it’s no wonder that they’ve been listed as one of the top 20 Australian producers to watch. Be sure to also check out their song “Breathe” with Daniel Merriweather, a totally different sort of track with a rumbling dark beat and handclaps beneath Merriweather’s neo-soul shimmering. (Also: in their first shows, they opened for Hudson Mohawke of TNGHT – you know, that Hudson Mohawke, the one now working with G.O.O.D. Music and the producer behind such bangers as “Mercy” from Cruel Summer and “Blood On The Leaves” from Yeezus.)

They’re currently on a summer tour around Australia, but you can listen to all of their music so far via their Soundcloud and keep up on their movements via Facebook and Twitter.
